proud of mommy

I pride myself in my well educated and very intelligent children. My two year old twins are in a daycare class together and the teaches have always told me they stand out and every one loves to have them because they are so well behaved. My daughter brought home a certificate for knowing all of her numbers, shapes and colors. The teacher said the other children wait on her to answer then repeat her. What mother wouldn't be tickled pink? My children can do sign language and practically work my I Phone better than myself. They love to read and are very enlightened by new things. They get praised for all their good doing. I have even shocked some by announcing that my children love fruits and vegetables, I am assuming this is because I am twenty and seem like id be shutting my kids up with candy. I work hard with them, and I love to empress people by all they can do. I know they don't fully understand now but one day I want them to understand that I work hard in school too, and that everything i do is for them. My daughter likes to carry on as much conversation as she can. She was fussy one day about going to daycare and I explained that mommy had to go to school just like her, and mommy had to learn, and read, and take test, so she could be proud of mommy. The only thing she repeated was "proud of mommy", I started laughing and said yea does mommy make you proud? And although my mom could tell me all day or my grandmother that they are proud of me it ment ten times more for my baby to put her arms around me and say "yes I proud of mommy".

backpacks & diaper bags

Studying made simple! Is that even possible when your a single mom in college? It seems like as soon as things calm down in my house long enough to get started on my study's that its getting so late i can barley hold my eyes open. Although my children are in daycare everyday and it seems as if I have all the time in the world to get things done I always end up so busy from appointments to cleaning the house, even working takes up a lot of valuable time. When I do get to study I have to pack up my diaper bag and my backpack just to have everything that's needed. I know I didn't picture my self being twenty and not debating on focus on college classes or potty training. Since they are both my responsibility I do both, if I cant get my head into my books I have an amazing group of friends and the best family so any time I need to go to the library or right a paper all i have to do is pack up the twins diaper bags and drop them off with a family member or friend, get dive right in and get to work.

Saturday Nights

On a Saturday Night, most of my friends are with their friend or boyfriends, on a date or hanging out. I'm the exception to my friend, although they all love my children I simply cant bring them along to everything. That is when you start begging mom to babysit, I'm just kidding my mother loves to watch them, so on Saturday night she babysat them for me. while most girl are trying to put on there make up and try to figure out what outfits make them look not look fat, I was at home. Yes me, even with a babysitter on a Saturday night i sit at home all alone. See although it may be fun to "rip and run" I have a prior engagement ... my two year old twins. Santa had brought them beds for Christmas and mommy had just never set them up. I knew that seeing there reaction would make it all worth the night in the house.

It seemed like I had started something id never finish, I was rearranging furniture and swapping rooms. Tinkerbell was making me dizzy and I wanted to scream at the thought of Disney's Cars. I had disassemble the old cribs that had been converted to toddler beds and then I knew there was no turning back. I quickly pieced together the Cars toddler bed. it wasn't too bad, I was ready to move on to the Tinkerbell bed. WRONG Tinkerbell had tons more pieces. Little Girls are fun and cute but defiantly take more time effort and patients. Finally after what felt like hours of sitting in the floor I had a Tinkerbell canopy toddler bed. the hard part was defiantly over, and I thought it would be the easiest. But I had one room for my twins, one play room for my twins, and my brand new room downstairs and far away from the hyper two year olds.

After all that hard work I know I had made the right decision to stay home and fix their big kid rooms, when I got the most priceless statement ever from my daughter when my mom brought them home the next day. I was so excited to open the door and when I did my daughter was very distraught and confused she looked at me and said "mommy, what happened to our beds did you break them?". That was one of those moments you will never forget. she had seen their old beds outside and she just was so lost on what had happened to them. Saturday nights mean so much more with my babies in mind.

boyfriends, babies, & books

I must say there is no fun like dividing your time between three very needy things. A boyfriend, my babies, and my books. I am not the average 20 year old that claims to be so grown up, I feel like a kid with kids who is dating a kid. But one thing I do pride my self in is knowing my priority's. Yes I do like dates, I like to go bowling and I like to go to the movies and out to eat, but, I understand in order to succeed in life you have to work first and play later. Sometimes that means opening the books and doing a few math problems instead of just adding $7.50 times two equals $15 for two movie tickets. And although my school work is very high on my list, if I have a sick baby a doctors appointment may just have to come before coming to class. One thing I always try to do is stay focused I feel like if I never lose focus I will never get distracted and I will meet my goal at the end of the road. So for now my priority's are babies, books, then boys. and I must say Its working to my advantage so far.

Balancing Act

It's hard enough to be a single mom when your 20, but try being a single mom to two year old twins, when your in college and have a job yourself. Kids are oh so amazing, entertaining, and take a lot of time and energy. It becomes very hard to spend your time in the right places when you have so much goin on. When i became a mother I never pictured doig it alone, but now that I am doing it im all the way in it 100 percent devoted to my children, school, and my job. I like to be very involved in any activity witch comes my way but its hard to do homework while your playing dress up, setting up train tracks and cooking dinner. Its all a balancing act you have to play your cards right and have good judgment of time. my best friend = a calander and schedule.
